We have not been modified, we have been transformed. God doesn’t want to reform the church, he wants to transform the world.

It is possible to be so church centred that we miss the simplicity of God’s commission.

Keep it simple :

‘Love the Lord your God with all our heart and with all our soul and with all our strength and with all our mind’; and, ‘Love our neighbour as ourselves.’ (Luke 10v27)

We are relational…not organisational…we are family.

Christ died to restore relationship between us and our creator. Heaven’s government is family.

Jesus told us what we needed to do:

Don’t begin by traveling to some far-off place to convert unbelievers. And don’t try to be dramatic by tackling some public enemy. Go to the lost, confused people right here in the neighborhood. Tell them that the kingdom is here. Bring health to the sick. Raise the dead. Touch the untouchables. Kick out the demons. You have been treated generously, so live generously.” ( Matt 10v5-8 The Message Bible)

The kingdom of heaven is like a king who prepared a wedding banquet for his son”. (Mt 22:12  NIV)

GO out quickly into the streets and alleys of the town and bring in the poor, the crippled, the blind and the lame.

“ ‘Sir,’ the servant said, ‘what you ordered has been done, but there is still room.

Then the master told his servant, ‘GO out to the roads and country lanes and make them come in, so that my house will be full. (Luke 14v21-23 NIV )

Do Signs, wonders and miracles

How can we be sure we are getting on with the task. John the Baptist’s followers asked Jesus if He really was God’s son. Jesus answer was simple. . He answered their question as follows

“The blind see,
The lame walk,
Lepers are cleansed,
The deaf hear,
The dead are raised,
The wretched of the earth learn that God is on their side. “ (Luke 7v22 The Message Bible). That means we will be known by what we do.

Q : How can we as Christians know we are doing what God has called us to do? … A : If we are seeing the results that Jesus saw – “ie. We are we doing what Jesus did?.”

Take the Kingdom message

We must have a Kingdom mindset. Sadly to say its is possible for us to see the other Churches & Traditions as competition rather than co-labourers.

If we look with a church/denominational mindset then we will see the unsaved and then various groups of Christian with their own traditions and other agendas.

If we look at the world with a Kingdom mindset then we see only two groups of people : the saved and unsaved.

Jesus said ” I will build the church” and told us to GO and take the Kingdom message.

For a long time we have concentrated on the Church to the exclusion of taking the message and demonstrations of the King’s dominion to the world.

God does not want us to spend our time trying to be a model church. He wants us to model community.

Let’s take the Kingdom message to those who don’t know Him and also love the Church that Jesus builds.

We have been so affected by the Bethel, Redding CA,  teaching on Honour. It has revolutionised our view of relationships.

Honour restores and releases the God given potential of every person. It brings the values of Heaven to earth. Life flows through Honour. It brings healing.

Heaven’s call is that we should accurately acknowledge who people are as seen from a Heavenly perspective.

It is easy to see their faults. It is as easy for people to see ours. If however we look from God’s perspective we will see potential, gifting, calling and anointing.

If we see that and create an environment to release that then everyone will all benefit from it.

Mt 10:41 Anyone who receives a prophet because he is a prophet will receive a prophet’s reward, and anyone who receives a righteous man because he is a righteous man will receive a righteous man’s reward.

We know that if we recieve people in the God given identity we will see them grow, prosper and be a source of blessing and encouragement to all around them.

If we see people from a natural perspective we can miss the potential they carry.

Mk 6:1 Jesus left there and went to his hometown, accompanied by his disciples.
Mk 6:2 When the Sabbath came, he began to teach in the synagogue, and many who heard him were amazed.
“Where did this man get these things?” they asked. “What’s this wisdom that has been given him, that he even does miracles!
Mk 6:3 Isn’t this the carpenter? Isn’t this Mary’s son and the brother of James, Joseph, Judas and Simon? Aren’t his sisters here with us?” And they took offense at him.
Mk 6:4 Jesus said to them, “Only in his hometown, among his relatives and in his own house is a prophet without honour.”
Mk 6:5 He could not do any miracles there, except lay his hands on a few sick people and heal them.

Lack of Honour blocks off the reward even from Jesus ….. He could not do what He had come to do because they did not honour who He was.

People remained sick, demonised and  in darkness and death because they only saw Mary’s son, James’ brother instead of the Saviour the Healer and the Deliverer.

We must all look to see what God sees in every individual and “call it out”, bless it, encourage it and provide a place for it to be exercised.

Honour must always balanced with loving confrontation that seeks to win the person not the argument.

Release the capability, gifting and calling of all the body of Christ

We don’t want any gifting from God to be locked up and unused. We want it all out of the box.

So we, here at GO Church will endeavour to ensure that all the potential that God has put in each person is released.

God has not given anyone a gift or a calling that is superfluous. All capabilities are required for the task in hand. No Kingdom resource is to be imprisoned.

We all are looking for …”Well done good and faithful servant” (Matt 25v23) response from God when we meet Him.

The Presence of God

We love to be in God’s presence. Without Him we can do nothing.

Worship is crucial to our lives and our meetings.  “We enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with Praise

From His Throne room we can go anywhere and anything is possible.

From these verses (5 to 10) in Matthew 6 it is clear that we should pray if we want to see Heaven on Earth

And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him. This, then, is how you should pray“

“‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven….”

Prayer  is an essential ingredient if we are to fulfill our commission.
